How to Get a Client Testimonial Welcome! If you’re ready to help us gather impactful client testimonials, you’re in the right place. Here’s a clear step-by-step guide on how to make it happen.
Step 1: Identify the Right Client
Timing is everything. The best moment to ask for a testimonial is during a strategist’s yearly catch-up call, when celebrating the client’s portfolio growth and progress. These are ideal times to approach clients for testimonials.
Strategists like Adrian, Kit, or Arjun will determine which clients to approach based on two main criteria:
• The client has achieved positive results.
• The client has expressed satisfaction with InvestorKit’s service.
If you’re not a strategist but know a client willing to give a testimonial, notify their strategist, and they’ll handle the outreach.
Example Script for Strategists:
Strategist:
“It’s been fantastic to see the results we’ve achieved together this past year—[mention a specific success, like a property purchase or equity growth]. Your journey has been really impressive, and I think others could benefit from hearing about your experience.
Would you be open to sharing a quick video testimonial through VideoAsk? It’s a simple way to talk about what’s worked for you, and it could really help others looking for similar success.”
(Pause for response)
If they agree:
Strategist:
“That’s great! Thank you. I’ll send over a link after the call—it’s very straightforward and can be done on your phone or computer. Just a few questions to capture your thoughts. It would mean a lot, and it helps potential clients see what’s possible with InvestorKit.”
Step 2: Run the Workflow
Once the client agrees, it’s time to kick off the automated process. Follow these steps to initiate the VideoAsk testimonial request.
1. Log into Attio.
2. Go to the Agreements section.

3. Find the client you wish to send the VideoAsk to, and select Run Workflow.
4. Choose the VideoAsk Testimonial option.

This triggers an email to the client with a link to complete their video testimonial. The client will receive a personalised VideoAsk from either Kit, Adrian, or Arjun, depending on who their strategist is. Step 3: Follow-Up if Needed If the client doesn’t complete the VideoAsk within 7 days, the workflow will automatically create a task for the strategist to follow up and offer assistance or answer any questions. From here, the client is automatically put in the “Video Testimonial Tracker” List in attio! We will work from this list from here on out.

Step 4: Testimonial Management
Once the VideoAsk is completed, the video will be automatically uploaded to our designated drive:
At this point, Marketing is notified and begins the editing and preparation process for social media.
• Clients are initially in the status “Requested Testimonial” in the Video Testimonial List (See stages in photo above).
• After completing the VideoAsk, the system will automatically update their status to “Needs Editing”. • When marketing pick this up and take it for editing, they need to change the status to “Video with Marketing”
• Marketing will retrieve the video from the “Raw Video File” link where it is automatically

Once marketing has finished editing, they’ll upload the final version to the Edited Testimonial Drive:
• The edited video URL will be added to the “Edited Video File” field in Attio by marketing manually.
• After editing is complete, marketing will manually update the client’s status to “Video Review & Sign Off”, which will trigger an email to James for final approval.
Step 5: Final Approval and Publishing
Once James approves the video, the client’s status will be updated to “Publish Testimonial”, and marketing will be notified that the video is ready for release across our website and social media channels.
At this stage, marketing will shift the client to the “Done” stage, and the testimonial will be officially live!
You can track progress at any time through this link to our Attio list:
Step 6: Avoid Repeated Requests
To prevent reaching out to clients who have already provided a testimonial, we will tag their client file in Attio with “Completed Testimonial”. This ensures we won’t request another testimonial from them in the future. What do I have to do? Well here:
