InvestorKit - Work Health Safety

1. Our Commitment

At InvestorKit, we are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace for everyone. As a hybrid workplace based in Sydney, our team works from both the office and remote locations, with occasional in-person meetings.

We follow the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) and the WHS Regulation 2017 (NSW), and we expect all staff, contractors, and visitors to contribute to keeping our workplace safe.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • All InvestorKit employees, whether working in the Sydney office or remotely.
  • Contractors and consultants working with InvestorKit.
  • Visitors to our office or client meetings.

3. What We Promise

InvestorKit will:

  • Provide safe and healthy workplaces, both in the office and for remote workers.
  • Maintain emergency procedures and safe facilities at our Sydney office.
  • Provide induction, training, and resources to help staff work safely.
  • Consult with employees on WHS matters and welcome feedback.
  • Support mental health and wellbeing alongside physical safety.

4. What We Expect From You

Every staff member has a responsibility to work safely. You must:

  1. Take reasonable care of your own safety and the safety of others.
  1. Make sure your actions or inactions do not cause harm.
  1. Follow all WHS policies, instructions, and safe work practices.
  1. Report hazards, incidents, or safety concerns to management as soon as possible.
  1. Keep your workspace (office or home) safe and set up ergonomically.
  1. Take regular breaks and manage screen time to avoid fatigue.
  1. Travel safely when commuting to the office or attending meetings.

⚠️

Important: Failing to follow these responsibilities is a serious breach of both our WHS obligations and your employment contract. It may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

5. Risk Areas We Manage

  • In the Office: fire safety, slips/trips, safe use of equipment, workstation setup.
  • Remote Work: ergonomic risks, isolation, stress, and fatigue.
  • Travel/Meetings: safe commuting, planning safe meeting locations, managing fatigue.

We assess and review these risks regularly and keep a Risk Register to track controls and improvements.

6. Training and Support

  • Everyone will complete a WHS induction when they start.
  • Training will cover ergonomics, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Refresher training will be provided each year or when new risks arise.
  • Managers will check in regularly on workload, wellbeing, and safe practices.

7. Reporting and Incidents

  • Report all hazards, near misses, and incidents straight away to management.
  • If a serious injury or dangerous incident happens at the office or during work, InvestorKit will notify SafeWork NSW as required by law.
  • Incidents will be investigated, and corrective actions will be shared with the team.
  • All reports and investigations will be documented and stored for audit purposes.

8. Emergencies

  • Our Sydney office has clear emergency procedures and evacuation maps on display.
  • Remote workers should ensure they know local emergency contacts.

9. Mental Health and Wellbeing

WHS isn’t just about physical safety, it includes mental health and wellbeing. At InvestorKit, we support this by:

  • Providing flexible working arrangements.
  • Encouraging regular check-ins and open communication.
  • Offering access to Wherefit, giving staff discounted access to gyms, fitness centres, and wellbeing services across Australia.
  • Taking steps to prevent and manage psychosocial risks such as stress, overwork, isolation, or harassment.
  • Promoting early reporting of wellbeing concerns so support can be provided.

10. Review and Improvement

  • This policy is reviewed every year, or earlier if workplace changes or incidents require it.
  • Staff feedback is encouraged to make the policy practical and effective.
  • Records of training, inspections, incidents, and improvements are kept for audit and compliance.
